Weighted Blankets

All weighted Resources sold by Tajama Creations are Handcrafted in Darwin, Northern Territory, using only quality materials.

Weighted Blankets are filled with non toxic plastic pellets to provide weight. These are encased within 4 layers of fabric. Stitching is secure as each blanket it double stitched to ensure safety and durability. All blankets are machine washable. Please refer to the Care instructions for correct procedures

Why use Weighted Resources?

Weighted Items have been shown to help decrease levels of restlessness and anxiety in people who suffer symptoms arising from Dementia, Anxiety and Depression, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD and Autism.

Weighted items help raise the Seratonin levels in the brain by Deep Touch Pressure, which creates a feel good feeling similar to that of being hugged. 

By providing a sufferer with the tools to assist in Regulating their Sensory system, this in turn helps them become more productive amd focus on everday tasks that need completing

Research also shows it may help promote and improve sleep by relaxing the body. 

 

Important Information

Please note Tajama Creations does not recommend the use of Weighted Resources in children under the age of 3 years unless used under the specific direction of an Occupational Therapist. This is for safety as young children may not have strength to remove the blanket off themselves.


Weight recommendations by Occupational Therapists is generally 5 to 10% of body weight. These are not recommened for use in children under the age of 3 unless under the directional of an Occupational Therapist
